Everything You Need To Know About Royal Caribbean Cruises – Since 1970, Royal Caribbean Cruises has strived to offer seafaring travelers the experiences of a lifetime, and the company has undoubtedly revolutionized sea travel. For example, in 2021, they announced their almost year-long Ultimate World Cruise, which will sail in December 2023 and cross seven continents of the world. In January 2024, Royal Caribbean is set to launch the world’s largest cruise ship, the Icon of the Seas. This coincides with the grand opening of Hideaway Beach, a private beach for guests 18 years and older. Hideaway Beach is on the northwest coast of Perfect Day in CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s beautiful private island in the Bahamas.

The island underwent a $250 million renovation in 2019 and is known as a top destination for families and children of all ages,  as attractions include two waterparks: Thrill Waterpark and Splashaway Bay. In addition, Perfect Day at CocoCay has a variety of kid-friendly beaches, including Chill Island and South Beach. However, as the island’s first adults-only beach, Hideaway Beach offers guests fun and seclusion. Guests can expect two pools with swim-up bars, 20 cabanas, a DJ, and more. While most Perfect Day attractions at CocoCay are free for Royal Caribbean passengers, there is an entrance fee for Hideaway Beach.

Test cruises are non-revenue simulated cruises conducted in a manner as close to a real cruise as possible, albeit with volunteers on board.

Here’s a summary of everything we know about Royal Caribbean’s test cruises and how they will be conducted.

Are Royal Caribbean Cruises All Inclusive?

In late October 2020, the U.S. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has opened a path for cruise lines to restart using their Framework for Conditional Sailing.

Royal Caribbean is pursuing one of two paths, outlined by the CDC, to return to sailing. It requires US-based ships to conduct simulation cruises to test health and safety protocols if the cruise line expects to return to sailing without 95% fully vaccinated guests or crew.

As a family brand, Royal Caribbean typically finds that children under the age of 12 make up 10% of our guests on board, and currently, they are not vaccine eligible.

The test cruises will be conducted with a combination of Royal Caribbean employees and volunteers, although they are not sure how the volunteers will be selected.
