Yes! You can ship your trunk to and from campus through the Brevard UPS store. Under forms and documents in your CampInTouch account, you will find a UPS registration form. When you have completed and successfully submitted the form, you will receive a confirmation email at the address provided.
Yes, to keep communication as clear as possible, we ask that you provide a form for each camper.
Have a delivery note issued by The UPS Store of Brevard and save 10% on your total for shipping to and from camp. Print your letter from the mail sent by the Brevard store and attach it to the trunk of a box or duffel. A separate label is required for each item sent to the camp. Call 1-800-PICKUPS to schedule a pickup at your home, or bring the trunk to your local UPS Store. Don’t have a box? see the next question.

Bring your trunk to your UPS Store and pay them to “telescope” two 16, 18, or 20 cube boxes. This way your belongings are protected against loss and damage. The Brevard UPS Store will package items for return unless otherwise requested.
We strongly recommend boxing all your items. Items not boxed on the way to camp are not eligible for lost or damaged items. Unboxed items also incur additional fees and charges because they are considered non-perishable items by UPS.
As a general rule, we recommend sending your trunk at least 7-10 days before the camp start date. Travel time depends entirely on where you live in relation to the camp.
You will not be charged until your item is picked up and ready to be shipped to your home. Any applicable discounts will be applied at that time. The payment receipt will be included as a packing slip in the shipment. If for any reason payment is not received, items will be held until full payment is received.

For most shows that end on Friday, things are packed for the weekend and aired on Monday or Tuesday, depending on the tone of the show. Most families receive their trunk on the Thursday or Friday of the week following the last day of the program. Want to take your outdoor experience to the next level? Let me start by dispelling a common misconception about hiking: You DO NOT need expensive gear or brand names for an amazing hiking experience!
If you’re considering hiking for the first time, or you’re new to it, you may feel overwhelmed by the specific equipment you may need. But apart from a few basic hiking essentials (which you probably already have at home), all you need to do is choose the route you want to take. then get out of there.
I’ve created this list of hiking essentials I don’t leave home without hoping to make it less intimidating for you to start hiking! In this guide, I list the basic hiking gear and gear in my daypack that every beginner hiker will need for a great, comfortable and safe experience!
How To Apply In Person For A Passport
You will need a bag large enough to hold water, food and any light clothing you may need. It doesn’t have to be fancy – you can usually get away with a regular bag. But if you’re looking for a more convenient and practical bag, you can look into investing in a day pack.
There are day packages designed for hiking. They often include hydration reservoirs (“bladders”), large pockets for water bottles, and come in a variety of torso sizes and designs that conform to your body for a comfortable ride. more. A day pack with a capacity of 15 – 20 liters is enough for a short and easy trip.
Personally, I like to travel light…especially for trips under 3 miles. Since I only needed a bag big enough for water, snacks and my car keys, my larger day pack was overflowing. So I recently purchased the REI Co-op Flash 18 after hearing many of my hiking friends rave about its performance. And I absolutely LOVE it!

The REI Co-op Flash comes in two sizes: 18 liters and 22 liters. These ultra-light packs (just 9oz for an 18L bag) are compatible with hydration bladders and have a waist belt and straps for a snug fit.

If you’re looking for a simple, light, and inexpensive day pack to start with, I recommend the REI Co-op Flash. It’s perfect for those times when I’m on a short walk and want to carry something small.
Hiking the Plain of Six Glaciers Trial (9.1 km) at Banff National Center required us to bring enough daypacks to bring cold weather gear, food, water and safety equipment.
Long walks require a lot of water, food and gear, especially if you expect cold or rainy weather. For these trips, you’ll want to bring a larger bag with more capacity to fit all your gear.
For these heavy loads and long journeys, it is even more important that your bag is properly fitted and adjusted to your body, for a safe and comfortable journey.
Scalp Yeast Infection: Causes, Symptoms, Treatment & Prevention
After being bitten by the hiking bug in 2014, I decided it was time to invest in my first daypack. I wanted something big enough to carry my gear and a water bladder, but light, comfortable, and provide enough support.
Seven years later, my Osprey Women’s Mira AG 18 continues to be my everyday pack. The internal frame, suspension system and adjustment straps allow me to find the right fit for my body.
My Osprey Women’s Mira AG 18 water pack will always hold a special place in my heart, as it was my first day pack. 7 years later and it’s still my everyday pack! The Osprey Mira AG, an 18 liter pack, fits my body perfectly with its suspended frame design, while providing extra support for heavy loads with a padded waist belt, and straps lift loads. The rain cover that comes with the pack has saved me a few times when I was caught climbing in rain storms, especially when I was on Mount Rainier!
It looks like this pack is only sold in the 22 liter size like the Osprey Women’s Mira AG 22 Hydration Pack…which is great! I found my 18 liter pack too small when traveling in climates where I needed to bring extra straps or a rain jacket.
Protecting Our Planet Starts With You
For the men’s version, my brother has been using the Osprey Talon 22 since 2016 and recommends it for day trips.
But choosing the right shoes doesn’t mean how expensive the shoe is or what the brand name is. It’s a matter of understanding the area you will be traveling to and what is right for you.
Whatever shoes you choose, make sure they are broken in, comfortable, and provide adequate support and support.
For smooth, flat, and soft terrain, running sneakers, trail shoes, hiking sandals, and low-heeled shoes are sufficient.
What To Wear And What Not To Wear During Surgery
On these types of trails, I’ll go with my Altra Lone Peak 4.5 shoes, as they offer incredible traction and incredible comfort, without that heavy feeling. In warm weather or on wet trails, my Chaco ZX2 are my go-to hiking sandals. Not only do these sandals have great arch support, but they also have a ton of movement.
For rough, rugged terrain, you may need sturdy hiking boots to provide the support you need. If you need more ankle support, choose high-heeled shoes.
The shoes you choose are personal to you. In the photo below, my husband rocked the Merrell Men’s Moab 2 boots for our 9.1 mile hike along the Plain of Six Glaciers.
But for whatever reason, he decided to climb Half Dome in normal running shoes (that’s a sad story for another time)!

Whatever you decide, make sure your shoes are broken in, comfortable and offer enough performance. As you get more serious about hiking, you can invest in sturdy hiking boots or durable boots.
Avoid cotton socks for hiking. Cotton absorbs moisture and dries slowly, which can lead to sweaty feet and smelly feet.
Contrary to popular belief, you do NOT need special or expensive clothing to go hiking! Just what I need for the clothes I wear
